    Blood Orange Paloma

Ahh blood orange season is one of my favourites. They are one of the most beautiful fruits and that colour just makes everything you make just that much better. Those deep purple-red-orange blood orange colours look absolutely stunning in photos. I can't think of a better way to enjoy them other than in the form of fresh squeezed juice in a blood orange paloma.

For these blood orange palomas, I grabbed an assorted bag of blood oranges and used the darker purple-red ones to make some drinks and the lighter red-orange ones to make the others, resulting in a gradient effect. These blood orange drinks are just as good without the alcohol. Just omit the tequila and keep the lime for a little kick.

I love these for bringing a little taste of sunshine into my life while I'm freezing my butt off during these months. I'm always surprised to think that such a sunny citrus is in season in the middle of Winter!

Photo talk: These photos are a reshoot of a photo that I took of similar drinks from blood orange season last year. I posted a little comparison on my instagram, if you're interested in seeing a sort of before and after and also an unintentional comparison of artificial light (these photos) and natural light (last year's photos). The opinion was quite split over which one people prefer so that was interesting for me! I think these ones reflect my current style much better though! Think "Anthropologie catalogue" because that's my favourite store and also GOALS. Let me know what you think!
